Our sushi restaurant on Amager Strandvej is located in a protected gunpowder house from 1776 – just a few steps from Amager Strandpark and the Øresund. Back then, ammunition was stored here. Today, the building holds something else. The ten-metre-high space is supported by rustic beams and thick walls that still stand with the same seriousness as before. Beneath the roof ridge float colourful lamps woven from recycled plastic. Raw and light at the same time. The gunpowder house has lived many lives over the years. Now it has become a sushi restaurant on Amager, where Japanese craftsmanship meets Danish coastal light – surrounded by brick, wind and water.
