Kings, punks and supermodels. Indeed, Kings Road has been the main thoroughfare for many walks of life through the ages. As the name might imply, King's Road used to be the king's private road in London which only he and his acquaintances could use. But in 1830 the road was opened to the public, and the rest is – as you say – history.

FOOD THEATRE IN HISTORIC SURROUNDINGS

Today, King's Road is one of London's most prominent high streets where luxury brands and world-known fashion stores lie side by side. But it has not always been like this. In fact, King's Road has been the breeding ground for some of our time's most famous countercultures: It was here the hippies gathered in their search for peace and free love. And it was here that punks gathered around their music and the fight against the establishment.

Today, King's Road is still buzzing albeit a bit less chaotic. And now, there is a Sticks'n'Sushi restaurant, right in the middle of the historic street. Sticks’n’Sushi is situated in a building drawing on the unique architectural traditions of the area. Inside the stylish black-and-white house, we have created a restaurant with seating for 220 people across two floors. Behind the design is the Copenhagen-based architectural office NORM. They have given each floor its own identity which harmoniously plays together with the overall design of the Sticks’n’Sushi restaurant.

Coming in from the street, you are greeted by a large open kitchen surrounded by tables and chairs. You almost get the sense of our chefs preparing sushi on a sort of stage. It is a kind of food theatre, where fine craftsmanship and quality ingredients play the main parts.
